SpellbookMaster App Reviews

Great resource, but incomplete

This app is easy to use and a great resource for anyone who is playing a spell caster in 3.5e D&D or pathfinder. However I had to knock it down 2 stars due to its incomplete nature in lacking spells from expanded source books like the Spell compendium.

Works well, lots of information

Spells are broken into Spells, Schools, Levels, and Classes, which is helpful. Choosing between d20 or Pathfinder spellbooks is also helpful. The search is fast and the search results show classes and levels for the spell. Is it worth $7 more than Spells 2.08? As a new player, I dont think so.

Not cheap, but...

What makes this app better than the others I own (and thus worth more to me) is the FREE Mac app that integrates with it. I find it easy to make lists of spells for individual characters and sync them with my iPad. If the price bothers you, try the Mac app and see if you like it. The iPad app also works well with VoiceOver (important for having your device read out the details to you or everyone playing). I would like to see more scope for nanaging spells while you are playing, but Im not sorry I bought this app.

Great, but lacks custom lists. :)

Very nice and complete :) It would be great to create spell lists: as is, it is a great reference but you need to lookup every spell in a long list.

Crap

Waste of 8$. Links dont download spell books right

INVALUEBLE!

This app is worth every penny for DMs with spell casters. note:you need to connect to a wi-fi network to download all the PHB spells from the Wizards site by using a link on the app once you have downloaded them itll work. Thx for the update!

Nice!

Works just as its says putting a great deal of info at your fingers tip. My only issue is the price, its way to much for this kind of app. I would have been happy to pay 2 or 3 bucks for it but 8 feels wrong. Other the that Id give it five stars.

Every D&D players dream!

Great! This app rocks for DMs and spellcasters. This should be done for the powers of the classes ad races in the 4 edition of D&D.

Amazing...1 suggestion...

You should have seen the guys I game with when I showed them this app. It was like telling a group of adolescent girls that the Twilight characters are real and all single. Its pretty perfect the way it is with what it does, my suggestion would just make it go above and beyond. If there was some way to create and save customized spell lists for your characters (and maybe mark when theyre used and reset when you rest) thatd be awesome. But all in all, its well worth the price.

Great but needs more

It has every spell from the core books and a few more but it needs to have a way were you can put spells in that this dosnt support. Other than that worth the money.

Almost perfect

So far, so good, but it needs more to really be a killer app.

quick and useful

but for the price, i need to be able to input spells on the itouch. or a pc version of your program (lol). 5 stars if i could input on itouch.

Price?

Great app, but 7.00? You might as well give players the whole SRD for that.

Pretty good

Great app so far, missing a pile of spells I usually use though.. They are probably not as common. A bit dissapointed that it went on sale after I bought it for 7 bucks but thats life. Very east to use and a good interface.

Expensive, but Great

Im not even a spellcaster or DM and I find this app incredibly useful. Price is a little steep, but its the most useful D&D spell tool Ive ever seen. Definitely worth it.

Great stuff but...

A little expensive but worth it. Also, get someone to help you make a Windows version of the desktop app. I need to add in some spells but the mac interface makes me want to scream.

Works Great

Now make a 4th Ed version.

Zoinks

Im not even a caster and I get off on this app! This rofls my waffles, I tell ya what!

Invaluable

In conjunction with the mac app, this app saves me tons of time searching through books to find the descriptions of any spells I need to use. One of my favorite apps on the iPod without question.

Version 1.2

Great update, with the ability to add spells via a text file from a website it gives non Mac users the ability to have a spellbook consiting the spells they want. This is well worth the money, you can sort by Spell Name, School, Levels, or Classes and when looking by class you can sort it by level or spellname for that class. Why are you still reading? go get this App
